I was listening to John Denver & it amazed me how each song was about love, the beauty of life, etc. I also have listened to an Olivia Newton-John Grace & Graditude & each song was very spiritual. I like all kinds of music but only want positive lyrics......I just watched a concert on dvd & was shocked at how negative it was. It was Wyonna Judd who has a beautiful voice but is a drama queen. That is not want I want. I want to feel uplifted about life. Thank you.

Has anyone ever seen the 1990 TV-movie 'A Mom for Christmas'?

It was the one where Olivia Newton-John played a mall mannequin. An 11-year-old girl (motherless) sees her and wishes that she could be her mom. The wish comes true and the mannequin has to learn to be human. Oh, and there's a kid with a mullet in it.

The movie was equipped with cheesiness, anti-Gulf War messages, Full House-esque moments, Blossom hats, random neon shapes and poppy music (that the young Debby Gibson would dance to).

In all honesty, I was asking just for the sake of asking. It's a family favorite--we taped it when it originally aired and we still watch the copy we have (along with the old commersials). While it was a legit story, we still like to poke fun at it, you know, because of it's dated quality.

I do hairstyling in a multicultural hair salon where we do white hair and black hair. A lot of old white chicks, like 50 and older, bring their hair in and ask for afros. But I don't tell them that so many of them look frumpy with afros (since I don't want to insult them). I've only seen one white chick who looked good in an afro and it was that girl who was in the movie "Scarface".....and Olivia Newton John looked good in that semi-afro in the movie "Grease".

But if you don't believe me that old white women wear afros, then take a stroll at places where 50 plus white chicks hang out, like Tupper Ware parties, or walking around the local junior college indoor track. At least 1/3 of them are wearing their hair in kinky afros and they just look frumpy and silly. Is it an unwritten rule for white chicks to trade their long straight hair for kinky afros when they hit 50?

This fall I am auditioning for Grease and I don't want to get my hopes up to get them crushed. I have blonde hair, blue eyes (though Olivia Newton John doesnt), pale skin, I am an alright dancer, I can sing anywhere from alto to soprano, I have musical/theatre experience, and I revolve my whole life around acting. I have practiced daily and hope I didn't waste my time. The problem is that I am about 5'9" and the only people who would make Danny are small guys.
